My Aesthetics Journey with 1Aesthetics Medical and Surgery - Chin Fillers pt 2

Hello there :D

It's about time for me to update regarding the chin fillers i've done at 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery clinic. Previously, I've wrote a blogpost regarding the entire procedure and you can read it up more on here if you'd like :)

As I had to visit Korea and Taipei a few days after completion of the procedure, I didn't had the time to pay Dr Wan a visit the following week. I was initially quite worried that my chin would look very un-natural, but surprisingly, it looks really natural!

This is my weekly/monthly recovery process!

1 week after procedure

2 week after procedure

3 week after procedure
You can tell it still looks a little way too sharp from the side as it's still a little swollen. I've always been a slow-recovery kinda guy so it's actually fine by me x)

1 month post procedure
At this point, my chin still looks fuller but not as sharp as the previous week now!

6weeks post procedure
As you can see, the fillers has more or less finally settled down and the swelling has more or less disappeared. I'm loving how natural my chin looks! The results hasn't been drastic, which is good cause nobody wants to look like a snake demon from the china tv series right? hahahah!

I returned to Singapore during the 7th week and managed to book an appointment with Dr Wan for my super late touch up procedure. Dr Wan made some final adjustments on my chin fillers to make sure that it'll continue to look good for the rest of it's life span. I'm really glad that I trusted him to make a good work with this as there are many articles online recently regarding botched jobs! Some even had a major case of infection! This is why you should always leave such procedures to the professionals. (pssst by this.. i meant, TRUST DR WAN. HAHAHA)

2 months post procedure

Side view, check! My chin doesn't look as angular compared to the pic of week 3!

It's been almost 3 month since i've done the procedure now and i've totally no regrets trying it out! It has made my chin look a whole lot more defined and my side profile looks more even too! Thank you Geraldine, Dr  Wan and 1 Aesthetics Medical Surgery!

The photo on the left is the after filler photo and the photo on the right is before.  Look at how the fillers made my temple fuller, giving me a more youthful appearance.  I love my defined chin so much as well!

My Aesthetics Journey with 1Aesthetics Medical and Surgery - Chin Fillers

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's the new year already! Time sure flies...

Speaking of time, remember how in my previous post, I've mentioned that I'll be undergoing facial fillers with 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery? You can read it all up here in case you missed it Click Here .

I've managed to squeeze in some time before my Taiwan and Korea trips to schedule an appointment with Doctor Wan for a session of chin fillers.

I actually don't have much problems with my chin from the front view, however from the sides, my chin does seem to not compliment my side profile. Thus facial fillers is the best option if you're looking for a subtle facial enhancement!

What can chin fillers do for you?
– help if you've a weak and receding chin
– help if you've thin or receding jawline
– help if you've lost facial contours due to aging
– help if you've facial asymmetry
– help if you've deformities resulting from injury or congenital conditions

Clinical Profile Pictures - Before

The procedure was relatively fast, cleansing of the face was done first to ensure that the face is clean and sterile to prevent any risks of infection. After which numbing cream was set on my face for a period of time to ensure that the injection phase would not induce any sort of pain for me.

A cold compress was applied to my chin first to numb the area before the injection was being. The whole procedure didn't hurt, but was rather uncomfortable as it felt like something was pushing the insides of my chin. Other than that, everything was bearable with little to no bleeding!

After injecting, Dr Wan started molding my chin for me!

And we're done! Here are the side by side before and after photos taken at the clinic!

As you can see, my chin is more protruding now in a natural way!

Overall my experience has been pleasant. For me, I encountered more swelling than usual as I was sick the day we scheduled for this! However, the swelling will subside within a week so do keep that in mind and do not worry too much!

What To Do, & What To Avoid, Before Your Fillers Treatment

In order to reduce the amount of bruising and/or swelling from the injection sites, please follow the instructions below.
  • Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve for 1 week prior. Please consult your physician if you are taking Aspirin for medical reasons!
  • Avoid supplements including St. Johns Wort, ginko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E for 1 week
  • Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any "Anti-Aging" products for 3 days prior
  • Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 3 days prior
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to treatment
  • If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Please let Dr. Janowski know if you are prone to cold sores.
  • Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment

Within 6 to 10 Hours of Treatment

  • Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising.
  • Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s). This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax. Also avoid extreme cold such as skiing or other winter sports.
  • To help alleviate bruising, we recommend the topical application of Arnica - a natural ointment commonly used to reduce bruising. You can find this in the natural foods section of your grocery store, or at local pharmacies. We will also provide you with some in our office.
  • Minimize movement of the treated area(s). However, if there is a visible bump, you can massage the area. Depending on the areas treated and the product used, you may feel "firmness". These areas will soften and settle with time (usually 1-2 weeks)
  • Sunscreen and makeup can be applied, and the area can be gently washed with a gentle cleanser. Dr. Janowski recommends using a sensitive cleanser such as the Sanitas product line or Cetaphil to avoid additional skin irritation.

How Long Will Dermal Fillers Last?

It depends! It is however, not permanent. Shorter term fillers made of hyaluronic acid, like Juvederm and Restylane, will last anywhere from 6-18 months depending on the areas treated and your bodies metabolism.Long lasting fillers, like Sculptra or Bellafill, actually stimulate your own collagen to "grow" in as the filler. The results of these treatments have been reported to last as long as 3 to 5 years.
I'll be visiting Dr Wan and 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery before the Chinese new year for a follow up session and i'm quite excited for it!

My Aesthetics Journey with 1Aesthetics Medical and Surgery - Laser Toning Session #1

Hello everyone!

It's been quite some time since my last post! Despite that, I'm thankful for everyone who has been checking out this blog regularly on a regular basis cuz we've just hit 3mil views :D

Anyway, I'm here today to share with you guys on a procedure I've done with 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery!

My skin has been pretty good this year, minus the occasional breakouts here and there, my main primary concern has always been my acne scars. I started having a eeny tiny fear of lasers in Singapore because of my prior experience with certain aesthetics clinic in SG, which not only proved to be ineffective with their acne scar treatments, but also caused my skin to breakout. Oh, and I paid for those laser sessions so I definitely felt the pinch in my pocket as it came out from my savings. So I feel all of you who're going thru acne/acne scarring just like me! (fyi i spent more than 10k on aesthetics lasers/skincare/facials over the past 5years alone T_T)

Other than that, there was a deep scarring on my cheek due to an accident at adventure cove, I shan't repeat what happened as I've mentioned it numerous times on my instagram hahahaha, but yeah. Other than that, I experienced a minor breakout from using an incompatible mask the other day, but other than that, my skin was rather tame.

Okay, now that i'm done touching up on my skin condition, I would like to continue on my post on 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery.

Basically what happened was that Geraldine from 1 Aesthetics contacted me for a collaboration via email some time back, and I was ESTHETIC (get it? hahaha) to be able to collaborate with them as I've browsed through their facebook prior and their Doctor seemed really experienced and professional too!

I paid them a visit at west gate for a consultation
3 Gateway Drive, #03-21, 608532

The clinic is conveniently located just beside the escalator of level 3 so you can't miss it!

The numerous certs and qualifications the doc has!

After filling up the forms, I was directed to Dr Wan's office where I was given a thorough assessment of my current skin condition and I told Dr Wan my current aesthetics woes.

He suggested the following procedures:

1) Forehead botox - To help fill out the forehead wrinkles and lines that have started to form over time. I've realized that I've this condition for some time but never really paid attention to it until recently ): Guess it has became rather apparent.

2) Chin fillers/botox - I have personally requested for this as I've been experiencing bruxism ever since the removal of my braces (weird, right!?). Also because I tried out meitu camera the other time and realized that I would actually look better with a slightly sharper chin. So I decided to ask Dr Wan and clarify if I was suitable.

3) Acne Scar lasers - which like i've mentioned previously, was my primary concern.

Dr wan has been really friendly and understanding of my needs and aesthetic woes, he listens and suggests procedures that would help me and i'm really grateful ;)

I'll be undergoing these procedures on a later date and will be blogging more about it ! But as of now...

I underwent a laser toning session to help out with my unwanted brown spots, sun freckles, age spots and melasma. It's really effective in helping to rejuvenate and revitalize my skin, especially since it's been especially some minor breakouts here and there recently. The laser toning session was done also bcuz Dr Wan wanted to test out how my face would react to the lasers (cuz I was afraid of the potential breakouts caused by previous lasers) and he did not want the same thing to happen to me again :))) really thankful for such an understanding and caring doc.

Laser Toning (Q-Switched Nd-Yag)
- I was prepped and a gentle cleanser was used to remove any debris and dirt from my face. The q-switch laser was then done by Dr Wan alongside their cyrofreeze machine, which blows cold air onto the laser focused spots to help cool and soothe the skin at the same time.

I don't know about you, but this has to be the most comfortable laser session i've ever experienced in my whole life. I LOVEEEEEE the cyrofreeze machine. I couldn't feel any pain at all (no numbing cream applied) thanks to the cooling sensation provided by the cyrofreeze machine. I remember telling geraldine how much I love it because it reminds me of the cold winds of Seoul during winter x)

The laser was done on my whole face and focused on my problematic spots.

Their q-switch laser session comes with IPL, which helps in hair removal, acne treatment, skin rejuvenation and in the treatment of hyper pigmentation (YES) and fine veins. I've no pictures of the procedure/machine but like the q-switch, there was 0 pain. Just a small prickish sensation here and there

A soothing mask was applied to my face immediately after the treatment

This photo was taken when I reached home! The redness on my skin has really diminished and my skin is looking a lot better!

Skin noticeably glowy, feels and looks more refreshed and the redness of my acne has been drastically reduced!

I personally can't wait to try out the other procedures with 1 Aesthetics Medical and Surgery for my first experience with them was an extremely pleasant one. I felt 0 pressure/pain from the procedures so far and the staff/dr has been nothing but friendly, nice and professional. Making me feel as though i'm at home during the procedure hahahaha!

Achieving PEACH ROSE HAIR @ Black Hair Salon

Color of the MonthPeachy Rose
Done by Raymond, Director from Black Hair Salon

Hello guys~ As mentioned in one of my old post during Feb, my contract with my previous hair sponsor has came to an end. The stylist at one of the outlets did a pretty bad job on my last trip there and I ended up with a head full of different tones of blonde on different parts of my head...

I tried to salvage the situation by purchasing some coloured dye online to even the colours out but I failed badly. Though I didn't turn out as nice as I thought it would, It wasn't that bad either

However, as my roots started to grow and the lilac started to fade, my hair became really unsightly and I felt really messy about it. However, due to my hectic schedule and upcoming exams, I didn't had time to liaise with a salon to fix my hair!

Thankfully, I got the opportunity to work with Black Hair Salon after hearing lots of raving reviews about them online!

My assigned stylist and also director of the salon was Raymond (no pics of him today :p will take one on my next trip), I explained to him my current hair condition and my expected color/style of the day.

He thoroughly assessed my hair condition and informed me that my hair had to go shorter than it already is due to the damage done by the numerous bleaching services I've did in the past. I had no problems with going for a shorter look as I'm a guy afterall and our hair grows fast! We then discussed the colour we would be going for, and to be honest, after seeing a whole lot of people sporting the 'rose gold' hair color trend, I was tempted to give it a go!

However, after discussion with Raymond, he decided that the rose gold color is too common nowadays so he decided to do the peachy rose color that Joy from Red Velvet sported recently! :D

The entire process took roughly 5 hours, which includes 2 bleaching sessions, 1 colouring session and 2 haircut sessions~ The first haircut is to trim down the hair and the second haircut was to ensure that the damaged ends would be snipped off, leaving only healthy and newer hair!

After hours on the chair, this is the end results!

Throughout my entire "life" of blogging, I've never met someone as professional and friendly like Raymond. Kid me not, he takes his profession really seriously and does everything perfectly. (he also looks really young despite his age, trust me!! I'll show you guys a photo next time!)

He took time and effort to personally bleach my roots and ensured that at the end of the day, my hair color was EVEN throughout my head and my hair was still healthy and strong! He even warned me that the hair color wouldn't stay for long and that I could always go for a touch up that week despite his packed schedule! He is definitely THE ONE stylist you must try at least once throughout your lifetime as I'm definitely sure that he'll produce awesome results for you guys!
